Position Summary
The School of Arts & Letters at Indiana University Southeast (IU Southeast), in collaboration with the School of Business, seeks applications for the position of Professor of Practice in Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Planning to spearhead the development of a new Bachelor of Science program in Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Planning. This is a twelve-month position with a salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. This appointment has a flexible start date, with the program set to launch for the Fall 2025 academic term. Located in the Louisville Kentucky, metropolitan area, IU Southeast is one of eight degree-granting campuses of Indiana University. IU Southeast is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity employer. The successful candidate will be expected to proactively develop and maintain strong connections with the local Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Planning industry to build the new program; teach courses serving the program; and provide service to the program, school, and university. Teaching responsibilities include the following courses: Tourism Planning and Development; Principles of Event Management; and upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. Evening teaching could be required. This position requires excellent organizational and leadership skills to help with recruiting efforts and to establish and maintain community/industry partnerships.
